Dean Lucker and Ann Wood are a husband and wife art duo. Together, their work creates a world that is delicate and bitter-sweet.
Dean creates mechanical sculptures of human-like figures spoon-feeding sugar to anthropomorphized moons, or tree-men that attempt to remove branches on themselves. Ann creates very detailed paintings of people in fantasy worlds surrounded by objects with precious connotations. She says her paintings are like a girls jewel box.
They collaborate and help each other with every art project. They've never been individual artists, they've always worked around each other. They "share a studio like we share a life."
