  • This video shows the main release event of my cleaner shrimp releasing its newly hatched young. I was lucky to catch it on video at around 1am on May 31st 07.

If I notice her full of eggs again I plan to move the shrimp into a holding container to release the eggs once she has been holding for around 7 days.

  • my skunk cleaner is pregnant for the second time. the first time it was pregnant i kept it in the tank and it released the eggs but im pretty sure they were eaten by the fish. so now i want to get the pair of shrimps out so that when it releases the eggs, the fish dont eat it. i tried getting them out with a net but they hid and i could not get to them. i have a 250 galloon tank so it's really hard to reach them.

anyone know how i can get them out??

  • the eggs turn into a reflective silver colour .. instead of the lime green they start out as.. start checking at about 18 days or maybe 15 to be sure . im current;ly raising some there not doing too bad to be honest my cleaner shrimp was pregnant straight after giving birth so i get a new chance around every 2 weeks

  • Were any of you actually able to raise any of the babies? I have 4 cleaner shrimp and 2 of them are female. They release little swimmers in the tank all the time but they never grow. Eventually they disappear. I even have them in an empty tank.

  • OH MY GOOD GOD....

my two cleaners are pregnant and have been for 4 days now...i really hope to catch a few babies in a net and put it where the others cant eat them...

what colour will the eggs go as a sign to show they're ready to hatch?

and how long will they be pregnant for (ie, how long till you first start to see the eggs) will it take for them to be born?

  • WOW!!! congratulations!!! even if there are not so many survivors, your corlas had a nutritious fresh plankton dinner, :o)
