A chance encounter introduced us to this 91-year-old rockabilly star and adventurer who appeared at the Flame country western club in the 50s.

  • Hi my name is Lynn. Fern Dale was my God Mother. I spent many happy hours at both the Flame and Brady's. Still think about those times so often. I miss Fern more then anyone will know.

  • Bonnie, My sister, who went by the name of Barbara Lee Mac, started playing music with Ardis at Brady's on Hennepin Ave., back in 1957. Others in her band at that time as I recall were, Fern Dale and Linda Riley.

  • Ardis had the first all-girls' band, the Rythym Ranch Pals and a regionally famous band that played at the Flame in Minneapolis for 20 years. She played at the Grand Ol' Opry, toured with country stars like Tex Ritter. wrote and recorded music, raised award-winning Huskies, is in Rock/Country Hall of Fame, and raced sled dogs.
