Numerous studies have proven that Vitamin D from UVB Radiation helps prevent common lethal cancer. This "skirts" the topic, but still gives the ol' you can get enough from a vitamin...wrong.

  • @MakeupGuruFanatic Sued for what? Saying that tanning beds produce vitamin D? I hate to break it to you, but they do. That is not under dispute by anyone, including the dermatologists. It's not conjecture, it's just the natural biological process that occurs.

  • @MakeupGuruFanatic So Dermatologists are now trained as Endocrinologists?? I'm sure in your little world all doctors are the same..MD's, Psychiatrists, PhDs, Dentists, etc.). Stick to makeup honey, it seems like a fitting career choice.

  • No no the dermatologist dosn't know anything about vitamin D metabolism...I mean she only went to medical school and practices medicine at the University of Texas..what does she know? I hope he gets sued!

  • Prevent cancer? Oh rly?

You'll get skin cancer if anything by living in those things.

  • Milk is not a good source of vitamin D. as most samples don't contain the amount on stated on the label. They may also use D2 to fortify the milk and many bodies do not use D2. D3 is the best form. Anyway our bodies use 5000iu/daily, 50 glasses of milk or 12 portions of fish no way..

Dr Michael Holick a renowned vitamin d scientist does recommend tanning beds. But in UK and Europe commercial beds have too low UVB contents so won't make vitamin d. You can still buy UVB rich tubes for home use.

  • This just shows how gullible the general public can be.
