People maybe right that you are not playing dead on.Bottom line is.Does it work with song?You did say the word interpretation?and yes you are doing it on acoustic.I'm the biggest Gilmour fan you'll ever meet and a guitarist for 30+ years(I own a Black Fender Strat, fashioned after Gilmour's)just for background info,and I was by no means offended by this version.Type my name in youtube search(Tom Kovacic)and you'll see a vid of me playing.Not my best work,it's ok.So you know I'm not full of shit.

not quite right but pretty close when you drop down you should use the a string 5th fret and the g string hammering on the 5th an 4th fret then back to the a string 5th fret , keep trying youll get there one day
