Yes...I explained that they were different recordings in my initial comment/reply to you. The fact that the "Gillan" LP was pressed on virgin Japanese vinyl goes without saying, as in most cases Japanese vinyl surpasses others, with a few exceptions of course. Though not a true Hi-Fi quality in the sense of the original Japanese MFSL, Mastered At Half Speed, Discwasher, or Sheffield Lab recordings, it was still vastly superior to any run of the mill pressing during that time.

@drprogensteinphp Correct, but let's be very clear..the mastering/production and sound quality of the Acrobat UK Mr Universe is poor, whereas this Gillan Japan LP is actually one of the finest sounding records in the whole Deep Purple & Family catalogue. I've loved mine since 1978. It is a hi-fi demonstration recording.

@drprogensteinphp Just bought the cd off Amazon (think it's the 1993 reissue) from a third party seller for £11.17............RESULT!!!

@drprogensteinphp Thanks again. I had a look on Amazon, the cheapest i saw it (used) was about 18 quid. Not really willing to go that far for it, more like a tenner would suffice (have to watch the pennies). I was suprised it wasn't reissued/remastered along with all the other Gillan remasters a couple of years back but maybe the company doesn't have the licence to put it out on their label.

No problem...
Yes, I did notice those clips awhile ago....Pete Barnacle is a fantastic drummer. I have a couple early 80s albums by the band "Girl" in which he played. That band also featured Phil Collen(guitars) pre-Def Leppard if I'm not mistaken.
Steve Byrd is also a great guitarist...too bad we didn't see more of him.
Good luck in finding a copy. If I stumble upon something I'll let you know :)

@drprogensteinphp Cheers for all that info, much appreciated. There's a couple of great clips on here from '78 (Barnacle/Byrd lineup) doing Secret of The Dance and another song (which escapes me) from a Japanese TV show. In think the '93 cd issue had some of the Jap/NZ versions on it as well. Simon Robinson from the DPAS may have had something to do with that reissue. I might try and get it from a third party seller on Amazon (if it's not too pricey).
Regards.
David.

@nikama75
Thanks :)
Sadly YouTube has a 15 minute limit on uploads. Not enough room for Mr. Universe. I may upload another video featuring that song and a couple others as well.
Cheers!
