Chapter 26
"NOOOOOOO!!" That's the last thing Joe heard before he felt warm tears fall down his face. He didn't even bother to hold them back this time. He let go of Nick and started to run toward the sound, but Nick wouldn't let him. "Joe, don't!" He begged Joe, but Joe got free. He started to run again, but his legs collapsed under him and he fell inches from Nick. "NOOOO!!!! CATELYN!!" He hear himself scream as he stared ahead at Catelyn's body lying limply on the ground, her breathing shallow, her chest bleeding from a bullet-sized hole...
*Flashback to 10 second ago*
Kevin pulled the gun to his head and closed his eyes. "NOOOO!" he heard a girl's voice scream and frantic footsteps. He pressed down on the trigger, but was stopped by someone throwing themselves at him and reaching for the gun. They struggled and he tried to push her away, but she wouldn't let go. he didn't open his eyes the entire time. he pulled the trigger, and heard one single shot. he waited for the pain, but felt nothing. He heard a loud gasp in his ear and he opened his eyes. Catelyn was right oin front of him, her eyes wide and her mouth agape(it means open, ppl!) He stared at her and she slowly slipped down to the floor. Then he saw it... the bullet had missed him. The gun barrel was smoking from the shot, and he dropped it instantly when he saw what he had done. His legs gave out and he staggered backwards into the wall. He looked at Joe- and the pain in his chest came. not from a physical attack, but an emotional one. He saw Joe's face- a mixture of agony, grief, and shock. He watched in horrow as Joe came running up to Catelyn's motionless body, screaming all the way.
*end flashback*
Joe pulled himself closer to Catelyn's body until he finally was close enough to wrap his arms around her chest. he pulled her closer to him and she gasped for air. His eyes were blurry and all he could see was his own tears blurring his vision, but he could hear her perfectly. he stared in agony at her white shirt- a bright red crimson stain slowly spreading out from the hole to the rest of her shirt. Without thinking, he tore off his shirt and placed it on the wound,applying pressure all the while. She gasped for air again as he did so, and he caressed her cheek with his free hand. He didn't realize he was leaving a streak of blood on her face from the blood on his hand-her blood. His tears overtook him, and he started to shake uncontrollably. She looked at him through her half open eyes, and she grabbed his hand. He watched her as her chest heaved with every breath, heaving less and less as her breathing slowed.
"HOW COULD YOU?? NOW I HAVE ANOTHER REASON TO KILL YOU YOU BASTARD!" Joe heard Nick say and he looked up just in time to see Nick lunge for the gun. Joe grabbed for it, but missed as Nick pulled it toward him and shakily aimed it at Kevin, now lying on the floor in a tight ball shaking. "Nick, dont!" Joe and Lana said at the same time. Joe looked up and saw Lana on the other side of Catelyn now.
"WHY SHOULDN'T I? HE TRIED TO KILL ME! HE RAPED LANA, AND NOW HE SHOT CATELYN! HE DOESN'T DESERVE TO LIVE THE LIFE HE WAS GIVEN!" Nick screamed in between sobs. "Nick, don't! he's out brother no matter what he's done!" Joe begged Nick.
"NO SHOOT ME!! I DON'T FUCKIN WANT TO LIVE ANYMORE!! NICK!! DO IT! SHOOT ME!" they turned around and saw Kevin on his feet again. "SHOOT ME NICK! DO IT!!" Kevin egged Nick on. "nick don't do it! Let's just get Catelyn to a hospital! please!" joe begged as Lana called 911. Catelyn gasped for another forced breath of air, and Joe sobbed louder as he wrapped his arms wround her shoulders and puller her closer to him, her bloddy shirt transfering red fluid onto his chest. "I can't lose her!" he screamed at the top of his lungs as catelyn closed her eyes again.
Nic was staring at Kevin still, his eyes full of angry tears. "I should do it, you know! I should shoot your fucking brains out!" Nick screamed again and kevin laughed hoarsely. "THEN DO IT!! SHOOT MY FUCKING BRAINS OUT! DO IT NOW!" he begged Nick again, and Nick pulled back the trigger. "Nick, don't!" joe begged again. "DO IT!! DO IT YOU BABY!" Kevin screamed. They both stared at Nick. Catelyn gasped again, and Joe and lana looked back down at her for half a second, and in that second they heard it- one loud, ear shattering gun shot, and something big fall to the ground hard.

KEVIN DIDN'T SHOOT HIMSELF!! BUT DID NICK SHOOT HIM? WHAT ABOUT CATLELYN? WILL JOE GET HER TO THE HOSPITAL IN TIME? FIND OUT!
