Vincent Van Mike and I (Sudden Plant) walk around Newtown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania on Saturday, May 1, 2010. It was a hot and sunny day and everyone was out in the streets and we had a great time. Downtown Newtown is one of the nicest places in Bucks County and we got to see it at one of the best possible times.

The guitar player you see is Brian Elliot, who is from Newtown. What you heard was an excerpt from his song "53 Porcupines" Check out his music here: www.myspace.com/thebrianelliot

  • I've never been to Newtown.

Are people friendly? Are they friendly if you are a 'newbie' moving into the area?

    Thanks

  • You are correct about the some of the townsfolk being elitists but you are speaking of the yuppie soccer moms who live in the township. The town itself is filled with wonderful people that enjoy the rich history and culture of the town. Watching your video I can almost feel myself there on a warm May day!

  • The Newtown Hardware house. It was built as a hardware house and has remeined in operation for over 100 years. It even burnt down in 1899 and was rebuilt to the EXACT specifications as the original building. Newtown Bank and Trust Company. The original Newtown bank since 1864. it was not bought out folks. A true community staple. Mom's Bake-at-home pizza. It was in the movie SIGNS!!

  • I enjoyed your video and it did bring back some fabulous memories. As a former Newtown Resident that has moved on to "bigger and better" things, you did state it correctly that there is no other place like it in the world. One thing though... there is so much history in Newtown that you fail to mention. The Newtown Theater for instance... Its one of the nation's oldest movie theater. One of the few with a balcony.
