The only video of the first buildup of our alcohol burning turbocharged Buick V6, version 1.0. This engine allowed us to find some of the limits of burning alcohol as you will see. This was taken in 2001 at Carsbad Raceway.
The fuel went into preignition due to a lean condition and the engine spit out two rods and some of the camshaft. Coolant and oil was spilled under all 4 tires and the car went into a slide at an angle of around 25 degrees across the finish line at around 100 mph. A drysump oiling system was installed on the next engine.
I did straighten her out.

u mean by having a lean a/f it can cause the methanol in the water meth kit to pre ignite??

@Rone170 I burn methanol fuel only. There is no gasoline and no water.

At about 3/4 track the methanol fuel went into preignition due to the a/f mixture being too lean. Two rods exited the block along with part of the camshaft and dumped oil and coolant under all the tires. The car crossed the finish line sliding at an angle. I was able to straighten it out without hitting anything. The number 6 cylinder piston was sideways in the bore. I went to a drysump oiling system on the next engine.
