The 2007 North Raleigh/Wake Forest Relay For Life was held on Friday May 18 and Saturday May 19, 2007 at Wakefield High School's Wolverine Stadium in Raleigh.

Over 1500 participants helped to raise over $165,000 and we had over 65 teams.

Our honorary chairman was Greg Allen from the Wake Weekly (a cancer survivor) and the chairman was H.P. Pelzel (a cancer survivor).

The honorary chair of the Rhymes and Reasons Day Care Kids Walk on Saturday morning was 3 year old Nathan Naas. Nathan cut the ribbon on Saturday with the help of Stormy from the Carolina Hurricanes, Wool E. Bull from the Durham Bulls baseball club and his mom and dad.

Nathan lost his battle with cancer on June 1, 2007. We will surely miss his bright smiling face. He is a prime example of the reason we must defeat this disease.

I created this video from pictures taken by Doug Pitts, Jim Dyer and Greg Allen. Thank you to all of them for the fantastic shots.

This video is dedicated to Nathan, his brother Joseph, his mother Leigh Anne and his father Aaron. Thank you for letting him be a part of our event.

  • my Avid thing in my Middle school is doing this

    on the 26th

but sadly my wierdo parents wont let me go :[

  • Your folks are just trying to protect you buddy. Don't hold it against them.

  • Is there barely middle schoolers?

my school seems to be the only students from a middle school...

this seems like alot of fun..

    Great job...

  • Yes, there were many middle schoolers. They didn't stand still long enough to get into pictures! LOL

We had one group that did a dunking booth. This year, they are doing that again and doing a "pie in the face" booth where they get hit with pies!

  • My 3yr old son, Nathan, touched many lives with his strength and faith during his time with us. It was wonderful to have him as the honorary chair of the event, and I know that he enjoyed it as well. Thank you to everyone involved, and those of you who find encouragement to fight cancer in Nathan's memory.

  • Thanks for visiting Aaron. You have no idea how much of an impact Nathan had on all of us!
