@BritNotBrit If the original mods hadn't emerged in the UK, you wouldn't have had any such thing there, that's the bottom line. Jesus, if you took away items from other countries there'd be no youth culture at all. Nobody's denying the influence of American blues and soul on the youth of 60s England, but the mod movement evolved here, it was a British phenomenon, and you guys are emulating it.
I guess we can be thankful you haven't turned em into racist twats like the US skins are.

ps. AND the majority of the soul music beloved by the original "london mods" are,uhm, AMERICAN artists. So, remove the american music and the italian scooters and it seems there's only half a culture. pfft. haha. Just think about that for a sec the next time a brit wants to act elitists and claim ownership of part of pop culture.

oh geeze. You, Brits need to REfuckingLAX. Geography cant hold a monopoly on popular culture. One could also argue that a "real mod" is only from the 60's and 70's. And i'd be careful (unless of course youre alright with coming off totally ignorant) with the whole "evil america" cliche since,really, it was orignally the english that bullied other countries, brought disease, "god" and corruption to them. Also,unless you wanna give back vespa to italy I suggest we all share mod culture like adults
