Bluebird Buffalo Springfield: Rare nearly 9 minute version of Buffalo Springfield's "Bluebird" recorded in 1967. Only available on a double compilation album released in 1973. No version on CD exists. Excellent quality considering the original source. No skips but faint pops and hiss are present. Record player runs ever so slightly higher than 33 1/3rpm, but barely noticeable. Enjoy!

  • Does anybody know what in the world Stills is saying at 4:10-4:15 its hilarious?

  • @techreptdh I have no idea but if you listen very carefully with headphones between 1:58-2:06, it sounds like they're smoking something in the studio; you can even hear someone cough. Perhaps that may explain Stills' gibberish.

  • Anyone remember Buffalo Springfield singing the song titled, "Uno Mundo" (One World) from around 1967? I loved that song but have been unable to locate it on YouTube.

  • @MrRonnieG Also a good song. I think it's on the album "Last Time Around."

  • What's interesting that part 1 is in full stereo, then part 2 is in near mono,

  • @capitolemiproducer The whole thing is definitely in stereo. Listen to it with headphones on and you'll know what I'm talking about, although it does sound much more centered on the second part. I guess that's just how they mixed it.

  • This is the version I remember and has stayed with me. In fact i am listening with my 8yr old daughter right now. Hope it stays with her too!

  • @MattHatter Personally I like the short version better, but I think it still should have been included for its cultural significance. I remember when I was really young the long version came on a classic rock radio station late at night. Nowadays, it's even rare you hear the short album version on the air. This band had so many good songs, and it's a shame that at best you only hear "For What It's Worth" (a good song nonetheless) on the radio today.

  • These guys were my very first concert in Randolph Park, Tucson, Az in'67. What a nice way to start my concert career. Second was The Doors

  • never heared this version before...it IS the best...;that 's the thing about springfield & CSNY...they're always throwing in a twist to surprise the fans...should of seen how they stepped up Carry on in Milwaukee Summerfest in 06....the most talented band.

  • @MrRonnieG Uno Mundo was on the 3rd Buffalo album "Last Time Around"--out in 1968. You'd think the cut would be on youtube

  • this is classic Buff

  • @Toppercat ; BMR was a fan, a friend and an ardent supporter of BS. They would give him unreleased tunes to play on KMET-FM. A good example of this is the demos Stills and Cros made before Nash joined the band. BMR dubbed the new group The Frozen Noses. He also house-sat their pad in Malibu when they were on tour.
