Vinod Khosla, Founder and Partner of the venture capital firm Khosla Ventures on "The Innovation Ecosystem and Its Role in Shaping Our Renewable Future. This presentation at the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley, is part of the Dean's Speaker Series on the occasion of Khosla receiving the 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the Lester Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. (Sept. 9, 2009)

The University of California Berkeley Haas School of Business is one of the world's leading producers of new ideas and knowledge in all areas of business - which includes the distinction of having two of its faculty members receive the Nobel Prize in Economics over the past 15 years. The school offers six degree-granting programs. Its mission is to develop innovative business leaders - individuals who redefine how we do business by putting new ideas into action, and who do so responsibly. The school's distinctive culture is defined by four key principles - question the status quo; confidence without attitude; students always; and, beyond yourself.

  • Emphasis on Innovation and stop worrying much about planning the future appears as the theme of the talk. It is a welcome to innovative way of thinking. In India some innovators are forming DO Groups to implement selective innovations quickly enough to see the benefits for acceptance or rejection. Please extend your help from venture funds towards them. Narendra Nath (nnath32@ymail.com)

  • @mecritic U are an idiot as you do not seem to know much about institutions around the world. I think thats all i need to say

  • @leonpie u idiot govt spends countries tax money for IIT'ian unlike other countries institutions

  • @mecritic As long as he gives thanks to IIT for his foundation in engineering ,which he does. He need not necessarily serve India, he could choose to serve whichever country he likes. Btw you guys should have a load of IIT engineers who stay back and help the country anyway.

  • More money will be made than lost but more companies will lose than win when renewable energy goes large scale! Brilliant statement!

  • good stuff

  • great information vinod. great information

  • these idiots study in IIT's with Indian tax payers money and serve foreign countries.. shame on this this idiot Vinod!
