@clovenrick -- Excellent points. The Britt's decleared war on the Axis powers to include Italy and Empire of Japan. The Soviets were not part of the Axis but decided to play nice w/ the Facists up to the start of opperation Barbarossa.

Interesting question and I can't seem to form an answer. I doubt with the pact the Nazi's and Soviets had at that time would have given the Brittish Empire reason to make war w/ Russia over Poland

Not forget that he was the 2rd Soviet Commander on the Russian War with Finland(the Winter War(betwen Nov.1939-March 1940) On wich due to his poor planning and overall incompetence, the Red Army suffered about 185,000 casualties and on result,was by January 1940 replaced by(future Marshal) Simeon Timoshenko...
