  • I was privileged to see this wonderful show when it premiered at the Rubicon Theater in Ventura, CA. It is an amazing work, with two gifted performers. The story flows beautifully and I can't recommend it strongly enough!!! See it!!

  • For people who read the books and loved it - does this musical ruin it? Or is it still worthwhile? It seems odd that they only used two characters, I wonder how they'd make sense of the story through it!

  • @maq580 Actually, this is based off of the book, "Dear Daddy Long Legs" by Jean Webster, not the movie.

  • Gosh, As much as i love musicals, I'm really getting tired of light operetta squeezing the joy out of the genre. This is why folks call musical theater Gay. -- I hoped this show would take a few notes from the Astaire Caron film in that it had fun with the story - not make it into a quaint romance with somber music. -- These trailers make this look like a musical exercise in flowery tedium. -- But Good Luck all the same!

  • I saw the show. Very well done. I felt as though the music didn't fit the era at all and detracted from the story. I think the harmonic language is too modern and doesn't have enough variety to carry such a deep story. It is a tour de force in the staging: two characters on stage who never talk to each other directly. Very well done.

  • Agreed -- one of the best shows my wife and I have seen ever. Great acting, songs are all top notch from the first to the last. Great play -- tell a friend and see it before it hits big time and gets pricey!

  • I saw this last Friday. It is one of the best shows I have ever seen. I love so much I'm going back Saturday and the following Saturday.

  • Saw the Preview- excellent music, very well done, both actors were very convincing, great costumes as well, all the little touches that make a play work
