I show some of the tasks that go into a heat pump change out. I mount a new thermostat, add new supply registers with ceiling mount dampers, and show how an orifice is installed in a Goodman AHU.

  • Hey Zack i enjoy your videos nice work man i sold Goodman and Amanas when i was working at my dad and his partners business when they were together mostly amanas and had alot of freon leaks and that really turned me off to them are they better now sence they went to aluminum coils

  • @Israelhvac I hear ya on the Goodman. oh do I. I have had more leaks from Goodman in the last few years than I can count. This customer out of having American Standard installed because he is "flipping" this property.

Goodman has made a real ass out of me a few times.

  • @talyn875 Has it gotten better sence they went to Aluminum Coils?

  • @Israelhvac since it has been all aluminum evap coils I have had no leaks. Most of my Goodman hatred comes from the 2009 series that had all the leaks and bad reversing valves.

Congrats on the Trane product line-great stuff.

  • Nice work there Talyn, Honeywell is a fine t-stat, I use the 6000's for all our heatpumps.

  • @More350Power I look forward to it. You can make some real "horror" movies of some of the HVAC stuff out there.

  • @talyn875 The only reason I didnt install it myself is I didnt have the proper tools ( neither did the tech ) and I had not received my licenses yet. I had to recover a pound of 410a after I found he over charged it and it worked great last summer. I dont know if I ever asked you or spoke to you about all he did. I should make a video. The braising was never shiny. Ill just make a vid and send it to you. Its a long list.

  • @More350Power thanks, love the bender! Better for the looks and for reducing bazing issues (leaking and buildup on coppers interior). I think I would have to whoop some butt if a guy left the o ring out! The POE will be absorbing all that moisture in the air sitting open.

  • I was wondering how those stats work..... I just have regular split heat and central ac but the thermostat doesnt seem right. White Rodgers Digital non programmable. I gotta tell you, the more I watch your videos and see your work, the more I notice the person who installed my ac did a horrible job. Messy braising used elbows instead of bending.... and I dont think the nylon o ring was put in after the oriface. Guess ill find out in the spring if I still have 410a in the system....

  • @erd675 I'm glad they are helpful. I have really enjoyed making them. Thanks!
