  • 5:30am Grand Ole Opry (Country Classics). I remember watching it every morning before I went to school.

  • Oddly enough, 1986 was the same year Ted Knight died. R.I.P. Ted.

  • (cont'd) 5:00 PM - reruns of "Soap" 5:30 PM - reruns of "Benson" - 6:00 PM TV2 Eyewitness News 7:00 PM - CBS Evening News 7:30 PM - $1,000,000 Chance Of A Lifetime 8:00 to 11:00 PM - CBS Prime-Time 11:00 PM - TV2 Eyewitness News 11:30 PM - reruns of "Taxi" 12 Midnight - reruns of "Hart To Hart". All times Eastern. WJBK was available on Cancom and Canadian cable TV during this period. Many Canadian TV Guides had the "2D" bullet for WJBK's listings, with the D standing for Detroit.

  • On the radio I heard today about the event in Detroit with WDIV meteriologist Chuck Gaidaca on November 11 about Bobby Mitchell, isn't it the guy from Jackpot Bingo?

  • Here was WJBK's weekday lineup in the spring of 1986: 6:30 AM - CBS Early Morning News 7:00 AM - CBS Morning News 9:00 AM - Press Your Luck (CBS) 9:30 AM - Break The Bank 10:00 AM - $25,000 Pyramid (CBS) 10:30 AM - Card Sharks (CBS) 11:00 AM - Price Is Right (CBS) 12 Noon - Eyewitness News 12:30 PM - Young And The Restless (CBS) 1:30 PM - As The World Turns (CBS) 2:30 PM - Capitol (CBS) 3:00 PM - Guiding Light (CBS) 4:00 PM - Divorce Court 4:30 PM - Peoples' Court (cont'd),
  • Didn't TV2 had a 5:30pm news in 83-84 than in 86 it has Benson. I think they brought back a 30 minute 5pm news w/ Katherine Lehan and Cheers at 5:30 and by the 90s they had First News at 4 followed by Geraldo at 5pm than later on they moved Donahue at 5pm

  • that taxi looks like an exciting new show. anyone know when it's supposed to air? i bet its a big hit.

  • Do you have WJBK's local version of CBS' We've Got the Touch campaign from 1984?

  • Do you have the video from WJBK's version of CBS' We've Got the Touch promotional campaign from 1984-85?

"You and Channel 2, We've Got the Touch"

  • George Sells sounds simular to Charlie Van Dyke, who does voiceovers for many TV & radio stations.
