I was fully aware of my surroundings about 5 minutes later. I opened my eyes and narrowed them at Joseph.
Joe: I'm so sorry Demi, you have no idea how sorry I am. Are you okay? How are you feeling? Do you need to go to the hospital?
Demi: J-Joe, Joe, Joe. Shhh. *puts finger on his mouth* S'okay. Just tell me what happened, why were you 2 fighting?
Joe turned around and glared at Nick who was fiddling with his fingers, leaning against the hood of his car.
Joe: *through clenched teeth* Don't worry about it. It's not important. What's important is that you go to the hospital.
Demi: *I raised my eyebrows at him.* What. No way am I going there. Speaking of which, we need to talk. *I quickly stood up, patting my dress down. Miley and Nick took this as their message to go inside the house.
Joe: Did I mention how beautiful you are?
I smiled at him, knowing my cheeks were transforming from olive to complete scarlet.
Joe: *chuckles* So what did you want to talk about? *sits down, on the swing on the porch, pulling Demi onto his lap*
Demi: Well...you're not going to like this. In fact, I despise this. *I began nervously pulling invisible pieces of lent of Joseph's shirt and adjusting his collar*
Joe: What is it?
Demi: Well...I was told that I need a new heart. Now. *his eyes widened* So, I have to be admitted. I'll be in the hospital until I get one.
Joe: *he flexed his jaw in anger* And if you don't?
Demi: I have to stay still..they say I'll get one soon.
Joe: You will. I can feel it.
Demi: I have to go in tomorrow morning.
Joe: What time is it?
Demi: 12:15.
Joe: *he lifted me up off his lap*Well let's make the most of your last day outside the hospital. *grabs my hand and pulls me to the car* Let's go.
