Calvin was such a wonderful man. Ill surely miss him. Great singer.

I remember Mack Evans as a featured soloist on Jerry Falwell and The Old Time Gospel Hour, beginning around 1974. He previously sang lead for the Weatherfords in the early 1960s.
-
This quartet got started as a result of Coy Cook and Calvin Runion sang together in the Dixie Echoes around 1967-68 (Calvin had previously sang bass for the Kingsmen) then Calvin returned to the Kingsmen until around the fall of 1969 he and Coy together organized The Senators Quartet who started singing in concert about the beginning of 1970.

Gotta love Coy Cook- at the age when most tenors are watching (or moved to lead), he's singing top with ease.

Mack Evans went away too soon. He was a great lead!
-
By most accounts this was the best version of the Senators Quartet.

Great great video...were some good singers , I have some records of this group also.I thank you for this classic time capsule.

Great video! only Dave Rowland and Nick Bruno are still with us. The others are all gone.
Didn't Duane Allen write this song?

Yes - the ORB recorded it on their "Thanks" LP.
