What is probably the best conclusion (and not the one I describe in this video) is that there is an optimum balance between people learning to not be offended, and people not offending others (e.g. "fighting words", phrases that are only used to incite hatred, are a category of limited speech here in the States).

However, I think that the "burden" of achieving this balance should be most heavily shouldered by people who need to learn to not be offended. This is because anything at all could be considered "offensive" to some people (backwards-pointing baseball caps, socks with sandals, the phrase, "What's up?" etc.).

Essentially, I think that the majority of the problem is that people need to learn to not be offended because there are more things that can be offensive yet tolerated than can be offensive and censored.
