The press was nice to them back then...whereas the press is totally shitty to them now and has been since I remember
-
lol, ''name 3 bands who are crap and sold more records than you'' classic!
-
@troubleontheline66 Yep. Should have given them two words- Zoo TV.
-
wow adam's answers are very good articulated, he is smart
-
LOL! At 1:55 "we're not going to do anymore of these big world tours"! Ahh, the modest days of U2.
-
And it's to the point where they could record an album of power tool noises in a garage, and win 8 Grammys for it.
They're lost all the magic for me a long time ago. Now it seems that U2 is just a brand name. More of a corporation than a band.
It takes more than over-the-top space ship stage productions to keep my interest. But that's the only thing that's going to save that piece of crap NLOTH.
-
They're not going to do long tours anymore?
Kinda' backfired.
-
could you tell me what that guy says at 6:26?
I really don't understand him D:
thank you for another great interview!!
-
'Cause they care more about selling records nowadays than creating great music. Right now, they've gone off the original mission of writing more original non-mainstream music because NLOTH didn't hit the charts enough. U2 is not as it was.
He hasn´t changed at all. He just has completely lost fear to popular success.
They don´t write or play music to be in magazines. The fact they are is a random thing.

It's interesting seeing the guy ask them what was next after Rattle And Hum, knowing that in 3 years, they were going to chop down the Joshua Tree with Achtung Baby.
