@joelwagnerpiano lol I'm just not too lazy to don't comment

@billyguns2 I knew "Everyone praises" his Chopin... or you wrote it just to express your favor here? :D

@1Thompsonmusic yu're damn right... unfortunately pianism is worse now. Only tecnique.

Cortot was a genius -- it's records like this that give us that fascinating glimpse into true, genuine, unbridled romanticism.

Why don't they play like this anymore?? Why is it all bang bang bang?

Cortot captures the passion of Chopin like no other. One can appreciate his willingness to drop a few notes occasionally in the process of bringing forth the inner spiritual meaning of the text, This is not 'laundered' playing. It tells the story and brings you to the edge. Beautiful!!1

Wonderful use of rubato and just a really inspirational performance overall. Thank you.
Sheer MAGIC!
The courage, the daring, the dizzying flights of fancy!
It's piano playing akin to the wildly heroic brushstrokes of the painter Delacroix.
There's always an element of madness in Cortot's playing, thank God. Divine Madness is the essence of Romanticism.
Takes you right to the edge of the Abyss, and then takes flight.
STUNNING!
Inimitable!

I've always loved this piece, which I think is one of Chopin's finest compositions; this is one of the most musical and compelling performances of it I know. Everyone praises Cortot's Schumann, but for me he has always been one of the supreme interpreters of Chopin; the other pianist who captures his soul for me is Rosenthal.
