"Black Tiger Steals Heart" is the first of the basic sparring sequence sets. It is composed of the first four sparring sequences. The first sequence is also called "Black Tiger Steals Heart", named after the most popular attack pattern. Hence, "Black Tiger Steals Heart" may refer to a pattern, a sequence, or a set. The other three sequences are "Poisonous Snake Shoots Venom", "Precious Duck Swims through Lotus" and "Hang a Golden Star at Corner". This set, "Black Tiger Steals Heart" enables students to learn and practice all the four directions of attack and defense techniques involving hand strikes.

  • I've got Kiew Kit's book and in it his black tiger steals heart form is slightly different, from 'beauty looks at mirror' onwards. Still very useful though.

  • You're thinking of a different set called "Shaolin Hand Attacks", which is now called "Lohan Asks the Way." That set is also available on my channel. "Beauty Looks at a Mirror" is replaced with "Golden Dragon Plays with Water". Otherwise, the sets are the same. And by the way, my teacher's surname is "Wong". Typically, one would refer to him as "Master Wong", "Sifu Wong", or "Mr. Wong."

  • After you block with the tiger claw into a cat stance, R U pulling the tiger claw back into chamber? In other words, R U grabbing the opponent after the block and pulling them in?

  • This is kind of a boring form to watch. The technique looked flawless though.

  • We also have a Haak Fu Toi Sam form in our CLF style but it is quite different

  • So many different names! But ta for keeping me right. I'm a relative beginner, as you may have guessed. Until I can afford tuition I'm learning stuff from Master Wong's book and your videos.

  • thx for posting
