Back in the day the 351C was considered Ford's best, if not its most powerful, engine. It had one annoying problem. It had no coolant running through the intake manifold. That meant that the intake manifold would get so hot as to cause the gas to vaporize in the carburetor or raw gas to drip from the carb into the manifold several minutes after the engine was turned off. These problems were even worse if the engine had an aftermarket aluminum manifold and Holley carburetor.
@70scarrestoguy A guy down in Massachusetts has one in a lightened, supercharged 77 Mustang II cobra. Safely revs up to 7,000 RPMs. Do some research, define your goals, formulate a plan & stick to it. The 302 is a great little engine & their fun to work on.
