Coast Guard Respnse Boat Medium Overview

Overview of the Response Boat Medium (RB-M), including speed trials on Commencement Bay with the HH-65C Dolphin helicopter.

The boat was delivered March 31 and is the Coast Guard's newest asset to enter the fleet. Hull 45601 was launched on March 3, 2008 and underwent performance testing for two weeks.

The RB-M is an all-aluminum, 45-foot boat with twin diesel engines and water jet propulsion. It's expected to be the primary non-heavy weather, multi-mission capable boat operating from Coast Guard small boat stations.

Would a prop engine make it any faster, than a waterjet propelled craft the same specs and same hp?

it has no props instead it has two waterjets
