This was the evening of November 22, 1963. On this part there is much reaction to the assassination of President Kennedy(which was a little less than 5 hours before this report). Chet Huntley introduces a segment about the events of the day, starting with reaction of a crowd of people near reporter Gabe Pressman's car in New York City. Later there are scenes of the motorcade and events in Dallas. Dave Wiegman's famous footage is seen with other film of the motorcade. An interview of Charles Brehm is also on this youtube entry. After the interview of Charles Brehm is a political reaction by Chet Huntley on the events of the day. Scenes of Washington are next on this clip. And last on this entry is a comment on the reaction of Senator Edward Kennedy on the shooting of his brother. Senator Jennings Randolph of West Virginia is seen at the end of the clip.

  • No one will ever forget where they were that terrible day, except of course, for George H W Bush.

  • @TwistedSister09 - You are aware that he claims he doesn't remember where he was that day, aren't you? The funny thing is, he was in Dallas that morning. No worries, I'm sure it was just a coincidence. GHW Bush is a great American; how dare I criticize him and his whole beady-eyed family!

  • They put the press bus all the way at the back of the motorcade on purpose.

  • @LongLiveOx Nixon couldn't remember where he was either because he told different stories to different people.

  • 3:27 - a couple attempting to have public anal intercourse. interrupted by the assassination. darn it the luck.

  • Two priests who were with him say that his little boy John John is really cute and that they'd love to have anal sex with him.

  • @Yamato71 no, it's a light meter.

  • Jeezus! 5:56, was that a cell phone camera?

  • On a better note, that's my birthday! :3

  • @jackpark7927 You're wrong about when CBS overtook NBC for dominance on the evening news. David Brinkley states in his autobiography that in April of 1967, the AFTRA union, which all on air personnel belonged to, voted to strike. David Brinkley chose to honor the picket line, while Chet Huntley chose to cross it. The reaction from people knowing Brinkley was sitting it out and that Huntley had crossed striking picket lines, angered viewers of them both and began the end for them.

  • People forget that Huntley-Brinkley was the leading evening newscast on network TV....only after Chet retired in 1970 did Walter Cronkite take over the ratings lead at CBS. Huntley was in a class all by himself. I'll never forgive Cronkite for finally opposing the Vietnam war so late.

  • WAIT....... 22 IS MY BIRTH DAY AWW SNAP THATS WHY I CANT BE MY MOMMY'S LITTLE ANGEL :( CAUSE OF KENNEDY'S DEATH
