Yesterday was a nightmare. I always thought Kev and I would be capable of protecting Nick form our stepdad. Since dad passed away, Kev and I swore never to let our stepfather lay his filthy, grimy fingers on Nick, if he wanted to, he had to defeat us first. But he did yesterday..
Nick: Not really, im fine and Joe..Relax, its really not you or Kev's fault.
Joe: Im really sorry it happened, but i assure you, it will never happen again. I promise. *pinky promise*

Kevin :Hey, why'd you exclude me from the group hug?
Joe : *extends his arm and waves* JOIN US! ITS FUN!
At school:
Kevin: Okay, so after school, meet at the cafeteria.
Nick: But Joe'll be early, he's ending earlier than us.
Joe: Its okay, i can wait. *Smiles*
Kevin: But if you want to go first, you can. Then i'll walk home with Nicky.
Joe: Naww, i can wait *smiles*
The bell rings and school has ended for Joe.
Joe walks to his locker to keep his books and -

Joe: Hello?
?: Why arent you home yet? Get your sorry ass back here now!
Joe: I-Im sorry dad, School just end-
Stepdad: I dont give a damn, just get back here, NOW.
The line cuts off.
Joe messages Kev and Nick to tell them he left already and runs home.
Joe :*panting*
Stepdad: What took you so long?
Joe: I ran home as fast as i could. *pant*
Stepdad: Not fast enough, go wash the dishes. NOW.
Joe: Yes sir, where's mum?
Stepdad :Shut up and get to the dishes brat!
Joe's POV:
Somethings wrong, mum is usually home cooking and washing up, where could she be...
Joe's stepfather caught him wiht his hands out of the lukewarm dishwater and "WHAM!"
He swung his baseball bat at his back. Joe fell to hte ground, and winced in pain.
Stepdad: Get up you lil' pussy, your mum's not gonna be back to wash the dishes or clean up you shit. She wont be here to save you or hear you cry.
Joe :What do you mean you liar! Mum said she'd never leave.
Stepdad :*kicks him* IS THIS THE WAY YOU TALK TO YOUR FATHER?
Joe: You're not my father, my father died before you came, and he was a much better man than you are!
Stepdad: *kicks him even harder* Shut the fuck up and get on with the fucking chores, the house wont clean itself stupid.
Kevin is waiting for Nick at the cafeteria.
Kevin's POV:
Joe left without us, thats very unlike him..Is he angry? Hiding something? Got a girlfriend? It cant be..unless...
Nick: HEY KEVIN!!!! HOW WAS YOUR DAY??
Kevin: Hey Nicky, we have to rush home right now.
Nick:Why? whats wrong? I thought of getting a burge- *Kevn drags him out the school*
Kevin: I dont know either..Joe left without us, and thats-
Nick: Unlike Joe?
Kevin: Yes. Even you know that. Something could be wrong..
Nick :Then why arent you running? *sprints far ahead*
Kevin: I am..*pants*Boy. He sure can *pants* run..
Nick rushes to the door and desperately tries to open it.
Kevin: PUSH IT NICKY!!

Stepdad: Oh ho ho, look who's home to rescue his big brother Joe.
Nick: Get away you jerk!
Stepdad: Nono, thats no way to talk to your father, Joe has learnt that the hard way.
Nick :*looks at Joe*
Kevin: *bursts in* "WHAT DID YOU DO YOU ASSHOLE?
Nick: *runs to Joe*
Stepdad: Are you blind? Cant you see, i just finished teaching your little brother Joey a little lesson about respect. Respecting, ME.
Kevin: *runs to Joe* Joey, joey...can you hear me?
Joe: *smiles* yeah, im fine.
Nick: *cries* JOE!!
Joe: Ow-w. I think imma go back to my-
Stepdad: Uh-uh, not until the dishes are done.
Kevin: He's hurt, beacuse of you! WHAT DISHES?! Why cant you do the dishes? God gave you HANDS , FOR A REASON!
Stepdad: To teach your little brothers lessons?
Kevin: No-
Joe: Alright alright ! im finishing the dishes anyways.
Stepdad: Now, thats my good boy.
Kevin: No, i wont let him, do your dishes.
Nick: Yeah, no one bullies Joe. no ne, especially not you.
Stepdad: Oh really? What if i "bully", Little nicky here?
Joe: SHUT UP, I'LL DO THE STUPID DISHES, AND YOU KEEP YOUR HANDS OF NICK,
Stepdad: Cut the crap then, move your ass!
Joe: *struggles to stand* Sure thing 'dad'..
When Joe finishes the dishes he went upstairs.
Nick is in the shower.
Kevin: Hey, you alright?
Joe: Yeah, im fine..
Kevin: Why did you let him do this to you?
Joe: Because..
Kevin: Because?
