World War Two Women - Rosie the Riveter.
This beautiful film not only showcases that 1940's women could do everything men do, but they also made it look good ! Lots of ideas featured here for vintage hairstlye fans aswell.
Rosie the Riveter has become a real cultural icon of the United States, Norman Rockwells recruitment poster unashamedly copying from soviet posters of the same period. American women who were not in the military turned up in their millions to do their bit for the war effort. Many worked in the manufacturing plants that produced munitions and war supplies.

  • i love this video we saw it at school

  • The 1940s; the era of strong, hardworking women who weren't... CRAZY. They were modest and beautful and respectable. Gotta give them credit :)

  • WOMEN RULE! :)

  • finally a black person..yess!

  • go ahead girls! we, your generations and future generations are still so proud of you!!!!! <3 <3 <3

  • Love our WWII Generation. Thanks for posting this. The song is sung by the Four Vagabonds.

  • @redcorpse It's not my problem that you can't see past a metaphor, and i like the metaphor, and you can think all you want about my comment, you are making suck a big deal about it, i think your's is stupid as well, but hey, who cares. And it's not trendy pop feminism, as if you would know what it is, you can label everything you want, and i don't believe that women are totally fabulous, i just believe that sexism shouldn't exist, if you like sexism is up to you.

  • @revolverbangbang Oh right, but of all the metaphors you could choose of course you went for the stereotypical "girls in heels one". Your genius is astounding. Face it, it was an idiot comment. Now go back to your trendy pop feminism where you can exist in a world where you believe women are like "totally fabulous" and have patience for those "stupid" people.

  • @redcorpse It's a metaphor you genius, means women have gone through a lot in a society that still doesn't respect women completely. And i never said women are better than man, that's just something you assumed, we are equal, something that more people should understand. If you know how to read, in my other comment i never said men didn't have the qualities mentioned, in fact, they do, i just said that women have those qualities as well.

  • @revolverbangbang Are you finished being a idealistic simpleton? How many women walk around in heels now a days? I see more girls in ugg boots to tell you the truth. Second, women are no better than men are, we're all people. So take it and shove it up your butt. Where is there any proof having a uterus makes you more stylish or creative or smarter?
