It was a fucking conspiracy. Kerry Fraser, one of the best, most vigilant refs ever, didn't see it? Bs. They wanted the Kings in the final vs Montreal. Toronto would have beaten the Habs, and we would have been Stanley Cup Champions.

Well, in fairness, it was a different culture when Gordie was on top (1950s especially) than it was by the time the 1980s rolled around. Celebrity stalking is a fairly recent phenomenon and gretzky's need to have protection around him was partly (I think) a product of what had happened to John Lennon and to Ronald Reagan at the start of the 1980s.

Kerry Fraser was a terrible official. That was one of the most blatant non-calls ever in the NHL.

Here is my take on this and I am a Leaf fan through and through. I can understand why leaf haters are sicking of hearing about this kind of like the whole Bos, Van series but what bothered me about this te most was the fact that at the time they showed multiple camera angles and all of them showed Fraser looking directly at the play, so WHY the none call??? it pisses us Leafs fans to hear the words I missed it when we know damn well he didnt, we will never know the truth though
