Do you wish you could speak in public more confidently? Do you wish you were a better presenter?

I do. It's a lifelong challenge. So I joined the Unionville Toastmasters club. (You can visit most Toastmaster clubs, including mine, up to three times as a guest, to see if you might want to join. Membership is $150 a year, and you can attend weekly. Toastmasters is the best-value speaking program available.)

Today I delivered my first speech, the Ice Breaker. I taped my speech, because there is no better way to improve your speaking and body-language than by observing yourself on video. If you're not recording your speeches, then you're severely handicapping your progress!

My speech evaluator said that my speech was "very exciting" and that she "can tell [I am] a jolly person." What she liked most about my speech was my "enthusiasm, eye-contact with the audience, and the laughter." For improvement, she suggested that I move around less while I speak.
