Yes, there's no compulsion to Islam.

Briefly what is Islam:

1. To believe (acknowledge) that Allah (God) is the Creator & Sustainer of the Heavens and the Earth and all within, Him alone and without any partner. Hence to Him alone we worship and prays to.

2. For guidance of man (His prime creation) Allah sent down Books (including Torah, Bible and Qur'an) telling reasons for mans creation, how he should conduct himself on earth and what happens after death.

@antesignani point of information. It is a tradition of the Prophet (peace be upon him) to keep one's mouth clean. He had all his followers brush their teeth at least twice a day, as well as a ritual wash before each of the 5 prayers. He even made it known that he wanted all his followers to brush their teeth before every prayer as well: that is FIVE TIMES A DAY. Contrast this to the Europeans, who bathed once a year and only used flowers at weddings to mask the stench of their odours.

@supermiro07 either way, iraq or saudi, theyre both shitholes. did mohammed tell the muslims not to brush their teeth in the koran? any country ruled by sharia is in decline. if saudi didnt have the oil wealth that they have, it would be another somalia. saudi arabias wealth will eventually come to an end, and when that happens it will be dependent on hand outs from the US like pakistan.

The girl should not have been forced to wear the muslim coverings. She was dressed appropriately and not provocative in any way. If a traditional muslim girl was visiting a catholic school, would the nuns make her take off her headress? I doubt it seriously. So why is it ok for a non-muslim to be immediately stopped at the door and covered up? This is a double standard.
