In a rare look at lion behavior, two prides of lions discover each other and battle it out for territory. The larger Selati pride of 17 chases off the smaller Charleston pride of 5. The Selati pride captures and injures the smaller pride's only remaining cub. It appears as though nature will take it's course and the large pride will eat the small cub. But, strangely, the oldest and strongest Selati female decides to protect the young cub. It is still unclear to all who witnessed why she acted in this way.

Apparently wild lions cannot differentiate between people in or on a car - they see the motor vehicle and occupants as one big 'animal' - and they leave you all alone.
If you get out of the car and stand alone ... thing they may get interested :)

Incredible.
Never expected to see some dominate lioness have some for of "compassion" towards some outsider's cub and spared it from being torn apart A higher sense of self perhaps?

Wow. That's pretty cool. I've never seen so many lions at once, either.
