Alexandra Bastedo, star of 'The Champions' television series and well-known actress of stage and screen, has been tirelessly rescuing and re-homing animals in distress for over thirty years. Founder and trustee of the ABC Animal Sanctuary charity in West Sussex, UK, Alexandra and her 55 volunteers care for mini-shetland ponies and full size horses and ponies, pot-bellied and saddle-back pigs, Angora and pygmy goats, donkeys, cats and a large selection of birds. All these can be seen - coupled with further information about the Sanctuary at www.abcanimalsanctuary.co.uk . The Sanctuary has no secure funding and relies entirely on the generosity of the public for it's existence. Everybody who helps at the Sanctuary is a volunteer so every penny donated is spent on the animals in our care.
