This is part of Jet Li training in real life.

- By surrounding himself with volleyballs, it simulates attack from all sides. Volleyballs are light in weight and rebounces quickly. It is good exercise to train swiftness, reflexes and precision.

-training with a real Japanese monk who is a 7th dan in karate, Jet uses Japanese style of aikido, notice the monk cannot move once his arm is locked and can only be passively submitted to the ground.

-training in three section staff, the best practitioner can wield it like a silver snake in hand or use the three set piece like a single pole.

  • 0:19 well ima borrow this method

  • Yes!!!

  • A very smart way to train hand/fist speed, should be a new addition to traditional martial arts training methods.

  • @AndyRaslan The skills are similar to the Japanese style of Shorinji Kempo which was founded on the Shaolin Boxing style.

  • Although I can't believe my eyes, and I can't understand what that Chinese dude is saying with all that background noise, the Han Zi there clearly say "Japanese Shaolin Fighter".

Even so, Jet Li knows traditional Shaolin wushu and modern Wushu. Maybe you're mistaking his Qin Na and Taiji skills for Aikido. Even so, Jet Li's speciality is Fan Zi Quan, which is neither Taiji nor Aikido - sorry :P

P.S. Get your ass out of whatever McDojo you're stuck in ^_^

    P.P.S. It's a movie, not real life.
