@davapp9 No offence was taken. Perhaps you're right about the relief you speak of. But there are many ways of defeating your own inner demons. And I walk my own path. Yet I can enjoy Dustin's lyrics, because they're not some meaningless preaching. You can actually relate to them regardless of what you believe in. And - try taking someone elses burden once in a while. Only few feelings are better than what you feel when you look into somebody's grateful eyes :-)

@matzSVK thats true you can interpret it like that but these guys are talking about the relief they experience in their lives through the Power of Christ! What you say makes sense maybe and sounds nice but personally speaking, nothing has ever compared to what i have found in Jesus. No relief is like being freed from your own shame. Just some advice. Hopefully i didnt come off as an offensive jerkk there, that wasn't my intention

I'm agnostic and I don't like religious lyrics much, but I still love Dustin's songwriting. Despite many biblical references, it can still be interpreted very universally. Take this song - everyone needs a place to rest their heads, no matter if it means being surrounded by people you love or if it's about faith in anything. It inspires me to be a better man - someone, who's able to take someone elses burden for a while, so maybe someday they will return the favour. Thank you very much, guys!

@Bugeda100 of course. it may be obvious that he is referring to christian belief but even the reference can be interpreted in different levels. and lol. yea they're pretty good. i feel that same way about brand new. jesse lacey is just phenomenal.

@silentoceans311 the majority of thrice's songs have a christian message, if you like the music that's great too, but to interpret the lyrics as something other than christian is ignorant in my opinion especially for this song. Dustin is incapable of writing a bad song, and you should really do some research into what the songs actually mean.

@blynnhughes yes the song may be about jesus. but that's just your interpretation. we all have a different perspective of everything that occurs. may i remind you, this is art. meant to trigger people's emotions. you may see a chicken, i may see a small dragon based on how ive been raised and what ive been exposed to throughout my life. that is what music does. everyone has their own connection. their own taste. this is why there isnt just one style of music, one instrument, one song.

@dewi981 Not entirely sure how that relates to my comment and there's quite a lot to your question but anyway... I know that Christians are not perfect people (just like everyone else) and the church is most certainly not perfect. Christians and "the church" make mistakes but the point is that Jesus is the one we follow, and not the church or other Christians. We often do a shoddy job of representing Him and that sucks. We are not perfect but He is.
