  • that's brilliant, whats the grade of the steel? i have just been using basic en9 for all my punches/chisels etc. I love the hammer! and the shaft, we were stuck with bought in sledges at Hereford and the handles were always too bulky to work with comfortable. the one you have made there looks very fitted to your grip and more manageable.

  • @aobbuddy H 13 is a easy steel to work and good to get hold of

  • @aobbuddy H 13 is easy to work and good to find

  • looking good, but why don't you keep your punch cool? now you have to re-harden and temper your punch!

  • @aobbuddy the punches are forged from steel used for hot work ,i use them ,as forged no heat treatment , and they stand up well , i punch a lot of hammer eyes

  • Just ordered a ball pain hammer from Bruce and I can't wait to get it... nothing like having a hand made in the UK hammer to play here in the USA! I'm counting the days until it arrives!

  • Thats a badass hammer..

  • what would a hammer like that cost to buy? it is amazing, what is the steel grade for the hammer? 4140? i love your shop i have a small cobbled together shop still want to get a power hammer.... could you do a video of making your drift/punch? lots of questions... i really want to learn!

    thanks

  • Proper blacksmith indeed

  • We used to have the same hammer at the RSME when I did my city and guilds, infact most of your tools look very familiar. Was nice to see a proper blacksmith too.

  • @brucewilcock Thats great, thanks for the info! and the video
