Modest Mouse - Truckers Atlas (Live) 6/4/08

Westfair Amphitheatre‎ - Council Bluffs, IA. The only decent video I can post on here from the show. Crazy hailstorm basically cancelled the show. We got 45 minutes for $40. I don't blame Modest Mouse for playing. I blame Ticketmaster for not giving at least a partial refund. Not happy. But had never seen them before this. And may not have been able to get my camera in otherwise, so maybe for the best.

BTW, the bit at the beginning is some rowdy bastard up front that got ousted somehow. Security was the only ones there. No ticket tackers at the gate, no concessions, beer, anything else.

We were crazy for staying, but had nowhere to go that was close enough. That is why Ticketmaster is a ridiculous company. We literally risked our lives to see this show, and no mention of "rain or shine" on the ticket. But no word of cancellation, no money back. I am very surprised they even played at all. Hats off to the band for even having the balls to risk playing in the electric storm. Crazy as we were.

Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that I was able to get this close up for the video. It was a unique opportunity. I was just upset that I only got to see 45 minutes worth. Maybe if it was 2 hours it wouldn't have been as good, and most likely the vantage point I had would have been worse, but I guess the grass is always greener... I think it was just because the weather was absolute crap and we were outdoors during a hailstorm and multiple tornados were spotted less than 20 miles away.
