    no that's not the only cause, them valleys are being eroded constantly, in this case all at once. Was the case in point being showed a river or a glacier? no it wasn't it was a saturation of water in the ground. Them valleys are being eroded every spring from melt water, rock falls and other natural forces. What I was originally saying is don't build there because of this channel is going to direct the flow towards your house.

    Why are buildings continually being built in potential danger zones such as valleys and by rivers? We can't control nature and them valleys are there for a reason, they've been eroded from pryer mudslides.
