This is a remake of story structure and plotting, a much better video series in my opinion. All you need to watch is the first six parts to understand how to use the story-structure guide. The last six parts gives a real-time example of how I use the guide.

Pass it around. This is a gem. At least I think so.

Here is a link to the guide.

  • Does this method still work for detective novels?

  • @Petzie123 yeah.

  • Where can I get that photoshop file?

  • @deneco4 It's a jpg. The link is in the description.

  • architectus, this is an amazing tutorial. its everything a tutorial should be--clear, descriptive, and it has an organized feel to it, somewhat like a presentation. i really appreciate this a lot, i can't tell you just how helpful this has been. thank you so much!

  • @briangunn21 I'm not far enough along to have one yet, but they probably will! :)

  • @rsims87 I'm sure your editor thinks you're a nightmare!

  • @briangunn21 That's the difference in a writer and an editor... we are allowed typos! ;)

  • These videos are awesome! Thanks! I have a question that you may be able to help me with. I am working on a story that will at least require two books to write, maybe a trilogy. Should this structure be applied to each book individually, or to the overall story? For example, in a two part series would I end book one with the 50% mark and continue from there, or would I end the entire structure and start anew on part two?

  • "AWESOME" REALLY.....the word went out of style in 1994. It telegraphs just what a mindless, no imagination twit you are. After you showed me what a follower you are, I need to hear not another word.

  • youre a writer and you cant spell "lose"?
