ride on a Leyland Fleetline in China

A ride on Leyland Fleetline on rt. 226 in Shenzhenm China.
Bathces of bus this kind had retired in HK and shipped to the mainland in the early 1990s.
Some of them had their Metsec or BACo body replaced with China locally built ones, and were changed to left-hand dirved.
About 10 Fleetline are still doing normal passenger service in Shenzhen, though they are already over 35-year-old.
This Fleetline was registered as 粵B 34986. It's not very possible to trace its identification when it was in HK.

sad to say all the last 5 fleetlines in China have withdrawn from servicing on oct08

a bristol vr in china? ive never seen one in china i do admit it sounds alot like a VR

the only bristols appeared in the area were all lodekka

there are still 5 fleetline running on the streets and about to retire in months

this isnt a fleetline sound.sounds more like a bristol vr to me.

i have never been on a bristol before but i believe they are both fitted with a 6LXB unit so they sound pretty much the same

I still mourn the passing of the Fleetline from mainstream service in the UK. The type was always my favourite rear engined double decker. Modern buses are characterless and boring.

The Britol VRT does have a Gardner engine too and a SCG gearbox. Both types do sound very similar, particularly the transmission wine. Lovely sound!
