Well I do stand by my comment that of the sequels HALLOWEEN 4 and H20 work well (although 4 isn't perfect, it's far better than 5). But I do agree that H20 is the absolute best of all the sequels.
HALLOWEEN released 1978 (so you're right - a 70s film, just not as early as 74). Of the true sequels, I'd recommend you look at HALLOWEEN 4 and HALLOWEEN H20 - they are very good. HALLOWEEN III is a good science-fiction/black magic film worth a look too.
Your favourite sequence is when the terror really started! This is an outstanding film, a great horror classic. Like THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (1974) it doesn't need gore for its shocks. Best seen alone in a darkened room! Good vid.

Halloween 4 it's not pretty good. I never felt stressed or anxious like in Halloween or Halloween II. The best sequel is H20. Back to basics...
