Truthfully, i think it has to do with the marketing/advertising agency behind the ad.
Most creatives working behind these ads are anywhere between 25-35. Most probably have tried skateboarding at some point, and watched X-Games when it first was introduced.
Not to mention, all the young new age corporations who actually DO have skateboard parks at work.
