@KayleighMarieW That's not what happened at all. Rachel's dads are gay and needed a surrogate in order to have a child. The surrogate they used also donated her egg to them. That would be Shelby. The agreement Shelby had with Rachel's fathers was that Shelby was not allowed to contact Rachel until Rachel turned 18.

Yeah, they're mother and daughter who havn't seen eachother for 16 years when Shelby, Rachels mother, left her with her dad. They meet longing for the "perfect" mother and daughter relationship, and although they have alot in common they're practically strangers and things aren't as they expected....
