My perception of your comment PEEWEE is that you know nothing of the fire-service. 1- you state one guy could hardly climb the "stairs". Those are RUNGS you are referring to on the ladder. And this firefighter was carrying a charged hose line up the portable ladder that was fully intended at a straight angle because of the rig's position behind the portable. 2- You should stop by and see some "Detroit Volunteers" in action. You WILL learn a thing or two. Even from their E Squad.

detroit should be left to burn.

@peeweeherman3030 You sound like an idiot who knows very little about the fire service.

Wow ....this section of Detroit looks like a target rich enviroment for fires.........was this some sort of urban renewal process?

that awesome they dont miss a beat...here they would have ran and LT'S would be yelling collapse zone like a million times

It's an absolute shame the coditions these brave men and women have to work under in Detroit..it's nothing new here to have the city default on an engine or a truck and have it reposesed then have to use old worn out equipment in place of good decent equipment it's a testament to their bravery and dedication that more people are not killed and more of this city hasn't burned

@peeweeherman3030 wow you really like to pick and criticize

Correction on the typo...that should've read that the ladder was fully EXTENDED at a straight angle.....
how long did it take to put this out?

Once they turned on the latter hose not long - all flames were gone within about 20 minutes from when I quite taping. Not sure how long it was burning before I arrived.

Can you say collapse zone? These firefighters seem very casual about being beaned by bricks.

I know! she barely even lifted her head - and I can confirm that in real life the bricks hit just as close as it looks on the video - the ground shook under me. crazy.

I can't remember the street but it was off of the Lodge heading in to downtown detroit, I believe it was around the Wonder Bread building, I saw it from the street and worked my way back there following the smoke until I found the building. I could check the time stamp but I'm guessing it was around June of 2000. Take care, let me know if you have any other questions. Steve
