John Steel was clearly an admirer of John McCormack, given the studied resemblance in voice and style. But unlike many other imitators, Steel managed it very nicely! Steel sang this lovely song in the original production of the Follies of 1920; it is good to have the performance documented by this delightful record. Thanks for putting it up on Youtube. Five stars!
