  • That's EXACTLY what they're doing here in the US! I think this is the last trial the FDA needs for approval of islet cell transplantation as a viable treatment for type 1 diabetes. Fingers crossed!!!

  • I think an Islet transplant would be better, less intrusive. Pancreas transplant basically can’t be reversed IF it doesn’t work, your immune system will still attack the islets anyway wont it? So you could be back to square one, with a transplanted pancreas taking anti rejection drugs, hmm I don’t know about the pancreas transplant, just don’t feel right. But hey I’m not you. Think long and hard, think long term. Dr Faustman is taking small steps to a cure. You never know when she comes through.

  • Hoping you get accepted for islet cell transplant - what I've been reading here at Edmonton Protocol in Canada - they will take on Canadians that have undergone kidney transplant! Hope the same applies to you in the US of A!!!

  • Great to see you again

  • Good news! Great to hear from you!

  • glad to see ya back! Thanks :)
