People ask me all the time questions about how to grow aquarium plants in there fishtanks. Everyone asks me about different plants and how to keep them. The biggest trick to keep and how to grow aquarium plants is to have good roots in your planted tank. The roots are how the plants eat. Make it easy for them to eat and it will be easy for them to grow. Too many people want to talk about lighting their tanks and using CO2. Until just recently I had less than 1 watt per gallon on my 220. I have no CO2. Dirt is the key to a successful planted aquarium. If you want to know how to grow aquarium plants, the answer lies in how good your substrate is. I used dirt and recommend it. But don't take my word for it. Read the comments below. Seachem gave a talk about how plants absorb iron a few years back. They study plants all day long and gave the stat that plants grow 40-400 times more nutrients through their roots then their leafs and stems. If you want to know how to grow aquarium plants, watch my videos on how to dirt your tank. Check out aquascape.ning.com for live chat about how to do it as well. Root baby!
