Instrumental version of my original piece "Halfway" Performed on the Axis-49 remapped to play in Wicki/Hayden (thummer) mode.

Just a quick upload to show I'm still playing.

But mostly for you tiger ;-)

  • sheet music?

  • @bhfam Sure man, just make sure you credit me if you every play it!

Message me your email and I'll get it to you.

  • Did you physically replace the locations of the colored keys? Or do they make a thummer layout 49? Why do you prefer the thummer layout? (I just got my axis 49 today)

  • @frogb0tter Congrats on your AXiS! I'll message you with some details but here are the basics:

    A. I remapped the keytops myself.

    B. The MIDI remapping software is freely available.

    C. I prefer the Thummer layout (aka "wick-hayden") for several reasons:

    1. Ergonomics. I find melody *and* harmony to be both physically easier to play and also conceptually easier to think about.

    2. Theory. The W/H layout has some deep links into music theory that lead to some cool applications no other layout has.
