  • dude, don't worry about the audio, this picture is superfanstastico. i lived there that year, and recognized those pimps in the big mobile trying to drive around you. haha. gorgeous footage, thank you for posting.

  • @northbeachfilms Thanks a lot man ! wow some pimps driving in the upper east side you dont see that much lol.

  • @67tr876

they gotta get downtown somehow... haha

  • @northbeachfilms haha ya o btw do you rember when you got in to a cab and the rock cats use to tell you to buckle up. Now idk if that was there in the 80s but I know sure in the 90s I heard that a lot when you got in to a cab. It was something like "Hi this is the rock cats telling you to buckle up for a self ride and plz come see use at radio city music hall" ya something like that.

  • Wow, this sound cool! Too bad no sound! I'm sure I would've heard cool music in the background.

  • @Vinylrecordsneverdie thanks ya sorry was some you're most of the sound was lost for something idk why tho.

  • Anthrax was really picking up steam at this point. I imagine them somewhere in this video.

  • Forgot to add that I also loved seeing that Autocar roll off truck at 1:15

  • Awesome vid!! I like to see what stuff was like back then for people, especially in cities. Also loved seeing that United Van Lines International cabover semi!!

  • i never thought found a 1985 video in HD. thanks a lot!

  • THATS how NYC should look. the fact that they are proposing a shitty nissan van thing as the "flagship" cab of the city beginning in 2013 is complete bullshit. I mean they're using a japanese car to represent America's most famous city! 20th century, we miss you!

  • I was born 1985

  • @67tr876 have fun with paying lots of money for gas !

  • @dutchrobbie100 I know I wish we still had cool looking cars now. But with all this green crap we cant

  • this is so surreal.

  • @67tr876

seat belts in a new york cab ain't natural! but that sound vaguely familiar from the 90's. and i remember seeing some signs posted that made me laugh. like seat belts are gonna help you survive those rides? in the 80's it was still 'hang on for your life' -- there is a great film shot in nyc from that era with patricial arquette, i think, can't remember the name. gotta look that one up again.
