A quick view of Italian service trains, that run alongside the beautiful Lake Como (Lago di Como).

First train taken from Varenna Esino Station, during a thunderstorm, and the other shots taken just around the corner at one of the many villas along the lake.

P.s. I know that all the steam fans looking at these, will think I've changed sides. That's not the case, its just Italy doesn't have much steam, and certainly not around Milan. I did see one Italian steam loco however, but it was parked on a plinth, away from any railway, and we were in the car at the time, so I didn't get a picture. Anyway, the modern image trains were only to keep me occupied.

  • That's a film location for star wars episode 2 Attack of the clones!!

  • trains are dirty, without personnel and always late. nobody is ever willing to help, they are very willing to fine you instead.

the situation is absolutely appalling, disgraceful, we should be ashamed of such a terrible situation. no wonder mafia rules in our country. the railway situation says it all, it reflects a picture of a dirty and corrupted government.

i am italian, but not proud.
